Anzac day
Poppies are a very special to us because they help us remember the soldiers that fought in war. The red stands for the blood that came out the people that died and also they grew where they had the fight.you find them in a field at France. At the fight lots of people died and lost lives and never returned back. we lost about 100,000 people.(It was so sad!)" The word Anzac means New Zealand Australian army corps.
Black
Black is the sadness for soldiers that died. Black is trenches covered in mud. Black tastes like dirty water from mud. Black smells like disgusting smoke. Black sounds like loud gun-shots. Black feels like water surrounding my legs. Black looks like dark guns shooting people. Black makes me feel sad for people that died in war.

Matariki is the Māori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. It rises in mid-winter – late May or early June. For many Māori, it heralds the start of a new year. Matariki literally means the 'eyes of god' or 'little eyes.
Twinkling in the winter sky just before dawn, Matariki signals the Māori New Year. Traditionally, it was a time for remembering the dead, and celebrating new life. In the 21st century, observing Matariki has become popular again. Heaven-bound kites, hot-air balloons and fireworks help mark the occasion. postcard to Mum:
Finding my way out ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss as we listen to a story we ate marshmallows and sausages everything was good but not for long, shadows kept appearing.I crept curiously along hopping nobody would see me. The shadow slowly sneaked of the path . . . dun dun duuuuuuuuuuu suddenly the shadow vanished within the speed of light, looked around and I WAS STUCK stuck stuck stuck stuck ... and so on. All at once something magical took me, to my surprise IT WAS A DRAGONnnnnnn the dragon flew me back where I was supposed to be, until woke up I felt it was just a dream.
* Volcanoes are openings in the Earth’s surface. When they are active they can let ash, gas and hot magma escape in sometimes violent and spectacular eruptions.
The word volcano originally comes from the name of the Roman god of fire, Vulcan.
Volcanoes are usually located where tectonic plates meet. This is especially true for the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area around the Pacific Ocean where over 75% of the volcanoes on Earth are found.
While most volcanoes form near tectonic boundaries, they can also form in areas that contain abnormally hot rock inside the Earth. Known as mantle plumes, these hotpots are found at a number of locations around the globe with the most notable being in Hawaii.
Hot liquid rock under the Earth’s surface is known as magma, it is called lava after it comes out of a volcano.
Some famous volcanic eruptions of modern times include Mount Krakatoa in 1883, Novarupta in 1912, Mount St Helens in 1980 and Mt Pinatubo in 1991.
While we certainly have some big volcanoes here on Earth, the biggest known volcano in our solar system is actually on Mars. Its name is Olympus Mons and it measures a whooping 600km wide and 21km high.
The object with the most volcanic activity in our solar system is Io, one of Jupiter’s moons. Covered in volcanoes, its surface is constantly changing to the large amount of volcanic activity.
Most people think of volcanoes as large cone shaped mountains but that is just one type, others feature wide plateaus, fissure vents (cracks were lava emerges) and bulging dome shapes.
There are also volcanoes found on the ocean floor and even under icecaps, such as those found in Iceland.
Volcanoes can be active (regular activity), dormant (recent historical activity but now quiet) or extinct (no activity in historical times and unlikely to erupt again). While these terms are useful, scientists are more likely to describe volcanoes by characteristics such a how they formed, how they erupt and what their shape is.
Common volcanic gases include water vapor, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride and hydrogen sulfide.
Volcanic eruptions can send ash high into the air, over 30km above the Earth’s surface.
Large volcanic eruptions can reflect radiation from the Sun and drop average temperatures on Earth by around half a degree. There have been several examples of this over the last century.
Pumice is a unique volcanic rock that can float in water. It can also be used as an abrasive and is sometimes used in beauty salons for removing dry skin.
How the kiwi got its long beak once long ago, the kiwi had a short beak just like the other birds... suddenly it saw some delicious berries ( known as the best ) and rushed twords them. just then builders put up a new pole and the kiwi bumped into the pole ad crashed on a car, driving on the . suddenly he realised that his beak turned flat, luckily that car was going to the vet.when they got there the vet was surprised to see a huge kiwi with a flat beak.the vet replaced the flat beak with a very long beak and that's how the kiwi got its long beak. sinkholes Sinkholes are common where the rock below the land surface is limestone, carbonate rock, salt beds, or rocks that can naturally be dissolved by groundwater circulating through them. As the rock dissolves, spaces and caverns develop underground. Sinkholes are dramatic because the land usually stays intact for a while until the underground spaces just get too big. If there is not enough support for the land above the spaces then a sudden collapse of the land surface can occur. These collapses can be small, or, as this picture shows, or they can be huge and can occur where a house or road is on top. The most damage from sinkholes tends to occur in Florida, Texas, Alabama, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. The picture to the left shows a sinkhole that quickly opened up in Florida, apparently eating a swimming pool, some roadway, and buildings. A sinkhole, also known as a cenote, sink, sink-hole,[1] shakehole,[2] swallet, swallow hole, or doline (the different terms for sinkholes are often used interchangeably[3]), is a depression or hole in the ground caused by some form of collapse of the surface layer. Some are caused by karst processes—for example, the chemical dissolution of carbonate rocks[4] or suffosion processes.[5] Sinkholes may vary in size from 1 to 600 m (3.3 to 2,000 ft) both in diameter and depth, and vary in form from soil-lined bowls to bedrock-edged chasms. Sinkholes may be formed gradually or suddenly, and are found worldwide.[6] On 2 July 2015, scientists reported that active pits, related to sinkhole collapses and possibly associated with outbursts, have been found on the comet67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko by theRosettaspace probe.[7][8

But then he realised that he was sinking under water ( must be because of all the deer he ate)to the bottom of the river... still...helpless...sad...but after a few weeks he nearly died but he had super breath holding suddenly there was a giant sinkhole and sucked the croc in suddenly he saw a land of beauty it was the lost city of Atlantis. then he saw the sinkhole above and climbed back up . but then giant boats appeared so he kept on bumping them as in asking them but they didn't care so he kept on biting the boats.
The pigeon
The pigeon is a small and curious critter. It has long skinny legs and it is up to no good . The mischievous pigeon was a piel of airborne plumage. The deadly pigeon had a yellow chirpy beak. As the pigeon fluttered like mad its feathers shivered. The mysterious pigeon had a banana shaped tail and it looked like a kangaroo jumping around. He was a clumsy and starving pest. the pigeon is a powerful attitude of greedyness.
